Pattaya Police Arrest Russian Man for Plundering

A Russian has been arrested in Pattaya after he had been hiding in Pattaya for 4 years. He told police that had robbed a Russian man before fleeing to Thailand.

PATTAYA– October 2, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 19.00 pm Pol.Col.Chaiyod Warakjunkiet-superintendent of immigration police-was notified by a Russia official that a Russian who had charged in act of robbery had hid in Pattaya. Therefore he had ordered Pol.Capt.Ratchapong Teasud-deputy superintendent- and Pol.Capt.Thanadit Thuenchamnan-inspector- to lead a team to investigate.

 

Later the police found Mr.Andrey walking on Pratamnak road so they stopped him and inspected his passport. Upon inspecting it his passport had been expired since 14th September. He told police that that he and 4 friends had robbed a Russian man 4 yeas ago then fled to Thailand. He then signed up to learn Thai to get the long term visa.

 

Pol.Capt.Thanadit revealed that the police officers had been notified from Russia. The officers had investigated it for until a spy spotted Mr.Andrey was walking along the road so the police officers rushed to arrest him. In addition Mr.Andrey offered 700,000 baht to police officers to release him but the officers rejected his offering. However the police prosecuted him on charge of illegally staying in Thailand without permission before sending him back to the country.
