Pattaya People Still Confused About New Traffic Direction

Pattaya people are still confused about new direction on local roads due to the construction of the new Central Pattaya tunnel.

PATTAYA – Recently [Pattaya Daily News]; Pattaya officials had planned to control the traffic on the roads in and around the new tunnel which is to be constructed. The construction will take around 800 days to be completed.

 

On the 25th February, Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta-chief district of Bang Lamung- was accompanied with Pattaya representatives, police officers, civil volunteers and municipal officers about 100 men to meet local people and tourists on the affected roads. Also a one way system on some roads has been put in place to ease congestion during construction.

 

Mr.Chakorn said that the project is massive which when completed will ease traffic congestion. However, the construction will affect local people and tourist during the construction which is estimated to last around 800 days.

 

Pol.Col.Pisit said that the officers had managed the new traffic rules including some roads being turned into one way systems which is aimed to reduce traffic problems. The police officers might change any of the new traffic rules periodically to make sure the traffic moves freely. Also the officers intended to intensify traffic rules especially on vehicles which are parked in prohibited areas to make sure the traffic will move freely.

 

Also reporters revealed that local people are still confused about the new traffic direction which has caused congestion on other roads.
