September 26, 2012, at 3 a.m., a report of a man firing a gun in the air was received by Pol. Maj. Seksan Reuvate, Inspector, Pattaya police station, while he was patrolling with a police team inspecting for crime in the area.

The patrolling officers were informed that a man had shot a gun in the air near the entertainment center in Laem Balihai, south Pattaya, Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Witnesses said the man then drove away in a golden-bronze Mitsubishi Sedia, license number SOR THOR 3532 Bangkok. The police commander reported the car’s description on the radio communication to alert the police and volunteer police to arrest the armed suspect.

The car of the troublemaker was seen driving at a high speed on third Pattaya road, so the police followed him closely, and then arrested the driver in front of Sao Phuthai restaurant.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Songkrit Thongnart, age 35, a municipal officer who works as a driver in the Pattaya Deputy Office. There were two passengers in the car, a male and female.
