Pattaya Officials Raid Entertainment Venue

Pattaya officers have raided an entertainment venue after they found out that the operator was operating illegally.

PATTAYA – February 17,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 06.00 am Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta-chief district of Bang Lamung- was accompanied with Pol.Lt.Phonradit Chitramwong-deputy chief of protection division-, Mr.Prapan Pratumchomphu-deputy chief of stabilization- and Pol.Maj.Col.Komchana Ananta-inspector of Bang Lamung police station- and about 30 officers to raid the “Kachood Pattaya Pub”.

 

Upon inspecting they found 5 pub guards who they detained before inspecting the pub. In the pub they found about 50 teenagers drinking and smoking Baraku; therefore, the officers stopped the music and starting inspection each teenagers ID plus they performed drug test on them.

The officials found 4 people (2men, 2 women) who failed drug test, 5 people who were under 20 year old and 5 people who had no ID cards. Plus they found 5 kilograms of Baraku tobacco, 10 Baraku towers, pirated liquor and an income account. Mr.Wattana Kingmanow was the manager of the pub.

 

Mr.Chakorn said that the officers previously found out that the operator which had just opened 10 days ago it allowed people under 20 years old in the pub. Therefore, the officers raided the operator and they found out that the venue opened until the morning every day and they had no permission to do so.

However, the police officers took the manager to be prosecuted on a charge of selling alcohol to teenagers, no permission to operate venue, selling liquor over the time limit and allowing under 20 year olds to enter the pub. In addition, the officials would report the incident to Mr.Khomsan Aekachai-governor of Chonburi in order to close the venue.
