Pattaya Officials To Launch Inspection Project

Public and private sectors had discussed the Pattaya beach inspection project in order to promote Pattaya tourism by keeping the streets safe for tourists.

PATTAYA – November 20,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at Pattaya police station Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoy-commander of Chonburi-chaired the opening ceremony of Pattaya beach inspection project conference. There were representatives from public and private sectors attending the conference.

 

Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-acting superintendent of Pattaya police station- said that the project was the policy of the Royal Thai police in order to prepare for AEC in 2015 and improve security for tourists who might come to Pattaya in the high season.

 

There will be many kinds of officials who will be part of the project such as police, tourism police, marine police, administrative officers, municipal officers and volunteers who will divided into 7 different types of patrol teams such as a walking patrol team, Segway patrol team, golf car patrol team, ATV patrol team, horse patrol team, bike patrol team. There will also be 3 checkpoint teams located at the beginning of Walking Street who will be there 24 hours a day.

 

The main objective is to accommodate and keep tourists safe . Also they will crack down on beggars and homeless people who annoy tourists and control the speed boat operators to make sure they don’t rip off tourists.

 

Mr.Sinchai Wattanasathorn-president of association of Pattaya business and tourism- said that this project was really good one because he believed that it can get rid of crime. However he added that he needed the officers to add more checkpoints in alleys that were high risk crime areas.
