PATTAYA – March 14, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pattaya journalists have seen the tape from CCTV of a thief attempting to snatch a necklace from Mr.Komal Agarwal, a 40 year old Indian, who is also the translator for Pattaya police station. The incident took place on the morning of March 11th, in Siri Urai village, opposite soi Potisarn 4. The necklace had a value of 2THB.

MR. KOMAL. AGARWAL said that, after he had dropped his child to school, he parked his car at the local grocery store at his village. On his return to his car, he saw a boy riding up on his motorbike. It was only when the boy got too close that he realised what was occurring. The boy drove within grabbing distance, and tried to rip the necklace from Mr Agarwal. The necklace broke, but the thief didn’t get it, and the victim tried to pull the lad off his motorbike, but the thief got away.

As a result of the incident Mr Agarwal wanted to warn everybody about the dangers of wearing expensive jewellery. Unfortunately for the would-be thief (or stupidly), he was caught on CCTV, and the image has been plastered around the village, and put on the internet. Hopefully someone will come forward, and call the Pattaya police.
