Pattaya Motorbike Taxi Assaults Norwegian

A Norwegian man has been assaulted by a motorbike taxi rider who was taking him home. The motorbike taxi beat him up and stole 12,000 THB and his iphone.

PATTAYA – October 8th 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 8.00 a.m.; Mr. Somphong Janthaduang, aged 34, took Mr. Tore Klungeruik, aged 50, Norwegian nationality, to notify with Pol.Lt.Col. Ekkachai Moonlee he had been assaulted by a motorbike taxi rider who stole 12,000 THB in cash and 1 iPhone mobile phone from him. The incident occurred in central Pattaya.


Mr. Tore told the police told the police that he had been drinking in walking street and when he decided to go home around 5am he agreed a price with a motorbike taxi of 200 THB. The taxi rider then kept riding around for around 30 minutes until he stopped and attacked him and robbed him of his belongings before fleeing the scene


Upon questioning Mr. Somphong Janthaduang, aged 34, who was an eyewitness, he told the police that he found Mr. Tore who asked him for assistance and then took him to Pattaya Memorial hospital for treatment bfore going to the police station.


Initially, Pol.Lt.Col. Ekkachai Moonlee (Inquiry official of Pattaya City police station) questioned Mr. Tore in more detail and sent a team of officers to check the CCTV in the incident area to find the identity of the attacker.
