Pattaya Marine Department Simulate Sea Rescues

Pattaya marine department have simulated sea rescues to show that they can cope with any kind of marine accident to provide reassurance to visiting tourists.

PATTAYA – December 17, 2014  [Pattaya Daily News]; at Bali Hai pier Assoc.Prof.Chawanee Tongroj-assistance minister of tourism and sport authority- chaired the opening ceremony of the project to encourage safety of personal in the public and private sectors. RADM.Bunpod Kerdpoo-commander of navy region 1-, Mr.Chawalit Saengutai-vice governor of Chongburi-, Mr.Coonchai Tunsamai-president of tourism and sports authority of Pattaya- and Mr.Ronnakit Aekasing-deputy mayor of Pattaya- had also attended the ceremony.

Assoc.Prof.Chawanee said that Pattaya was an international tourism city which had about 10 million visitors each year. Also Pattaya is the biggest tourist destination in Thailand and it generates about 100,000 million baht. Therefore the officials want to keep tourists safe.

The marine officials had stimulated a fishing boat that had sunk and the crew were floating in the sea. The officials then used a helicopter to rescue them. Also they stimulated a sinking of a passenger ferry. The simulations had been done perfectly and Assoc.Prof.Chawanee handed all the attendees a certificate.
