PATTAYA – June 3, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.30 a.m., Pol.Lt.Col. Attharos Khrongrach (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Dong Tarn Curve sub-branch, Chonburi province) was notified by Mr. Jaran Sangthong, aged 26, that he had been robbed by three 3 men, and 1 woman who claimed that they were police and made him pay 100,000 THB.
Upon investigating Mr Jaran (the victim), he told the police that he had taken his car and it was to be rented out by Miss Nee who has a car rental business on Jomtien second road, opposite to Rom Pho market. After that Miss Nee told him that his car had been rented by a foreigner and it would be returned on Monday but later on Monday Miss Nee called him to go to her shop and informed him that his car had been seized by the police. Then Miss Nee took him to Soi Thepprasit 7 in order to see his car but when he arrived at the incident there were 3 men who claimed that they were the police and told Mr Jaran that they found methamphetamines hidden inside his car.
The 3 men then took Mr Jaran and Miss Nee to Soi Thoong Klom-where 1 of them told Mr Jaran that if he wanted the case cleared he needs to give them 100,000 THB and they would release him. Mr. Jaran told them that he didn’t have 100,000 THB and if they wanted that amount of money they had to get it from his boss. Therefore the 3 men then stole all of Mr Jaran’s property which consisted of 17,000 THB in cash 7,000 THB which they drew out of an ATM, 1 gold necklace and 3 mobile phones. They then fled the scene in his car with Miss Nee and left him on the side of the road. The police believe that Miss Nee is part of the gang and they will check the CCTV in the area and the ATM machines image to located and arrest the thieves so they all can be prosecuted according to Thai law.
