Pattaya Mall Vendor Caught With Fake Goods Worth One Million THB

Police Lieutenant General Panya, Commissioner of Region 2 Police, who is focusing his efforts on cleaning up Pattaya, announced the seizure of nearly 2,000 counterfeit items seized during a raid in Pattaya City Walk Complex. The value of the fake products is more than one million THB. The shop had been operating for more than 2 months.

Pattaya (January 31, 2012) Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Panya Mamen, Commissioner of Region 2 Police and Pol. Col. Yongyuth Khondok, Deputy Commissioner Chonburi raided a shop located in Pattaya City Walk Complex. Inside the shop the police found counterfeit pieces of luggage, handbags, wrist watches and writing instruments.

 

The police seized goods found in suitcases at the the back of the shop, totally 1,420 wrist watches, 450 hand bags, 19 pieces of luggages, 15 iPad cases, 20 writing instruments. The vendor Ms. Umpaiporn Komkun, age 36 old from Samngao, Tak province was detained.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Panya Mamen said, that this shop sold counterfeit goods to foreigners only. When the customers entered into the shop, they locked the door to allow the customers to shop without hazzle.

Upon investigation Ms. Umpaiporn Komkun the arrested vendor said, that the owner of the shop is a foreigner who hired Ms.Umpaikorn to look after the shop and the sell the products.
