At 3am, on May 19, Pol.Lt.Col. Thanadet Duengta-piyachai, Banglamung Police Investigator, was informed by Sawang Boriboon Rescue, Pattaya, that there was a firearm victim who had been shot in front of Wat Nongprue School, Banglamung, and subsequently transferred to Banglamung Hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, police found Mr.Booncherd Nak-bpu-chai (30), a loan collector from Naklua, who had sustained gunshots to his left leg, right arm and right hip. He was seriously injured and could not testify. Doctors gave him first aid and then transferred him to Chonburi Hospital.

Miss Nittaya Ard-jai-song (23), wife of the injured victim, from Sra-gaew province, told police that her husband had gone out in the early evening with Mr. Kit, his close friend in the same profession, to collect a loan. She had not heard from her husband until she received a phone call from the rescue officer informing her that her husband had been shot and was alone near the road side. She then rushed to the incident. She told police she had no idea who the gunman was and had never heard of her husband having a dispute with anyone. At present, Mr. Kit, her husband’s friend with whom he had originally gone out, has disappeared.

Police assume that Mr.Booncherd was shot by an enemy, or he could possibly have been involved in some form of illegal business and was shot in order to shut him up. However, the police think it likely that Mr. Kit could well know the real reason. Currently, police are searching for Mr. Kit to question him and hope to arrest the gunman soon.
