Pattaya Launched Traffic Organising Project

The Chonburi governor has launched a traffic organising project starting on Pattaya beach. The road will have signs to show designated spots where buses, minibuses and taxis will have to stop to load and unload their passengers rather than stopping randomly causing traffic congestion. He also insisted that there would be fines for anybody no adhering to the new policy.

PATTAYA – January 8, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.00, on North Pattaya beach, opposite of soi 4, Muang Pattaya, Mr.Komsan Ekachai, the governor came to the ceremony to launch the campaign, to organise picking up and dropping off passengers of the minibuses, taxis and buses, on beach road. Mr.Sakchai Tanghor, sheriff of Banglamoong district, Mr.Ronnakit Ekasing, vice president of Pattaya city, came with Muang Pattaya parliament members, business agencies’s representatives and the public attended the ceremony.

The continuing traffic problems in Pattaya traffic discipline and traffic law enforcement is none existent, so the committee of Muang Pattaya’s traffic solving appointed by the governor, created a policy to solve the problem and to organise all routes beginning with beach road.

For buses, minibuses, taxis, there will be 17 stop spots along the beach for picking up and dropping off passengers and also specified that the officers will be strict in enforcing the law from the 18th of Jan on wards.
