PATTAYA– Recently [Pattaya Daily News]; previously the Chonburi governor had appointed a committee for managing Pattaya beach operators in order to solve the problems with tourist attractions according to NCPO policies. Also the committee had been appointed in other areas such as Phuket and Prajuabkirikhan.

On 6th October Mr.Chaowalit Saeng-u-tai-deputy chief of Chonburi and president of the committee- had summoned all the officers who had previously been ordered to investigate problems that beach operators had caused Pattaya in order to discuss and find a way to prevent them from happening in the future.

Mr.Chaowalit revealed that there were only 30 % of the original operators left and the others had leased their land to other beach operators.

In addition some operators didn’t have permission but they claimed that they had already been given authorization by an official. Plus almost operators had broken the rules by operating out of their permitted area.

Pattaya officiasl aimed to reduce the amount of operators by taking back the beach from operators who had broken the rules by exploiting the public area.

Mr.Chaowalit said that the department of land had been given an order to pin each operators area on the beach in order to prevent overlapping. However the officials had no policy to get rid of these beach operators but they just want to manage and control them according to the rules.
