Pattaya, February 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Instead of sitting around in town it is very worthwhile to take a trip on the eastern side of Pattaya to the end of Siam Country Club Road. Several kilometers down behind the world famous “Horseshoe Point” Country Club & Resort you will find an idyllic valley where the Thailand Polo Club is situated.

This amazing Polo complex was designed totally by one Thai woman, Mrs. Nuntanee Tanner, who was the first lady to ever play Polo in Thailand, which must have been a bit disconcerting for the men. As well as being a leading business woman with B. Grimm & Co, she can still play Polo competitively and give a good account of herself.

Our 2010 annual Ladies “Pink Polo” event saw a strong all Australian team pitted against a combined south East Asian team, who were also very experienced players. In spite of their fears of defeat, our S.E. Asian team took an early lead and held it right until the end in a comfortable 5:3 win, with world famous American coach, Reggie Ludwig, expertly refereeing the match.

After the final match a delicious buffet style dinner was available, but throughout the day there is also food & drinks available for all visitors, and sitting at shady tables with Thailand’s upper class people, is a very pleasant way to spend the day. Admission is free and if you missed this prestigious event, then you will have to wait until the next six month long Polo season, which starts at the end of the year.
