Pattaya, February 2, 2012[Pattaya Daily News]; Pattaya was hit by heavy afternoon rains causing floods on Sukhumvit Rd. inbound. The most affected area was the intersection South Pattaya, on Sukhumvit Road.

Two lanes on Sukhumvit road were inundated and the water flooded onto the smaller roads and flooded people’s houses near by.

The traffic became paralysed and many smaller vehicles and motorcycles broke down in the one meter deep waters.

Pattaya City Administration sent disaster prevention & mitigation officers to check and repair the feed pumps to support the release of water into the Gulf of Siam. But this was a slow process due to the high tide. The officers said the situation would improve with the coming low tide.
