Pattaya Grocery Store Used for Illegal Slot Machine

Pattaya police have arrested a female owner of grocery store who smuggled to set up an electric slot machine for her customers use. She claimed that she was asked to set it up and she would get 10% of the total revenue each month.

PATTAYA – June 15, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Col. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Station, Acting Superintendent of Pattya city police station) had mobilized forces of the special operation police to inspect a grocery store which was located in Soi 17, south Pattaya, Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, after the officers were informed that the grocery store had slot machines for people to use for gambling.

 

At the grocery store the officers found 1 slot machine at the back of the store and at that time there was nobody playing the machine so they seized it for evidence. Miss Thitima Saesoi, aged 44, who is the owner of the grocery store and the caretaker of the slot machine was present.

 

Upon questioning Miss Thitima she confessed that the slot machine was given to her by an acquaintance about a month ago who would give her 10% of its total revenue. She also told police that that most of her customers were children, teenagers.

 

After investigating Miss Thitima the detained her together with exhibits of 1 slot machine and some 10-Baht coins. She was then sent to the inquiry official of Pattaya city police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
