Pattaya Fails To Manage Waste At Ko LanKo Lan villagers complained official to cope waste issue urgently. The problem is pending for a long time.
PATTAYA – September 6,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; Mr Booncherd Boonying, head of Ko Lan village, summoned villagers and tourist operator in Ko Lan district to discuss about waste problem.
Mr Aouyporn Boonying, former head of Ko Lan village, said that the villagers urgently requested Pattaya to provide countermeasure plan because strong smell of the waste badly affected to villagers on Ko Lan. Especially, 25,000-30,000 tourists are also affected during Hi-Season.
Mr Aouyporn added that Pattaya official previously proposed incinerator; however, this is long-term idea and lead time of construction is too long. Meanwhile, he proposed to change the place to transfer waste to land because it is not a good idea to place the waste on the jetty before transferring.
Mr Booncherd said that the villagers agreed the concept of problem solving, they only need the official to solve the problem as soon as they can. In addition, this problem is pending for a long time.
