Pattaya Drunk Fugutive Fires 9 mm UZI Into the Air

A drunk millionaire quarreled with some guys, shot into the air and escaped into his house. The police got him the next morning. The shooter is a fugitive who escaped an arrest warrant 12 years ago. He had stabbed his mistress several times.

Pattaya, December 11, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Sub. Lt. Noppadol Intasorn, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province was notified that a man had fired a pistol into the air to threaten people opposite the boxing camp Yod Thong, Soi Mabsong-boxing camp, Banglamung, Chonburi province.

At the scene the police found 9 cartridges, caliber 9 mm on the ground. The witnesses said that the shooter was Mr. Sala Samsang a millionaire, age 53 who was drunk and had a quarreled with some fellows and then grabbed his pistol to threaten them.

 

After fireing his 9 mm in the air drove his car to his house and escaped inside the house located at 178/1 Soi Mabsong boxing camp, Banglamung.The police had mobilized a team to arrest Mr. Sala but he was inside and refused to see see the police.

The police told Mr. Sala that nobody got injured in the shooting. And if he surrended he would only haveo pay a fine.Mr. Sala didn’t believe the police and shouted to the police that if they would enter his house without an arrest warrant he would charge them with unlawful entry.

The police stayed outside Mr. Sala’s house the whole night in order to prevent him from escaping.In the morning at 08.00 hrs Mr. Sala woke up and surrendered to the police and told them not to harm him.

 

Pol. Lt. Col. Phongrapee Loysayor, Banglamung police told Mr. Sala to surrender his gun. Mr. Sala handed over the automatic 9 mm Uzi Eagle ” Baby Desert Eagle” pistol with two magazines. He also showed the gun permit indicating that he is owner of the pistol.

The police had asked to inspect Mr. Sala’s house. Mr. Sala had showed drawer where he kept the pistol and the ammunition almost 100 bullets. Upon investigation Mr. Sala, confessed that he shot into the air because he was drunk.

He added, that he bought the gun since in the the past he was a member of the Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer Team and he always used to carry his pistol.The police detained Mr. Sala and charged him with “carrying a loaded firearm in a public place without permission and fireing the gun without permission”.

 

The police also checked the criminal record of Mr. Sala which showed that in May 29, 1999 an arrest warrant had been issued and Mr. Sala was charged trying to kill his mistress in Baan Fhang, Khon Kaen province. But he escaped.

The arrest warrant will expire in June 29, 2014.Mr. Sala confessed that he escaped 12 years ago after he stabbed his mistress who was severly injured.Mr. Sala was charged with escape on an arrest warrant and was detained at the Banglamung police station. He will be investigated and prosecuted according tho the Thai law.
