Pattaya, the 29th March 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Around one thousand spectators with their “cheer teams” were in attendance at East Pattaya’s large soccer playing field at Nongprue, to see the Pattaya City Dolphins soccer team convincingly win on a 3:1 points victory against the Rayong City team. This was the first win of the soccer season for our local “Pattaya Dolphins” soccer team, and turned out to be a slightly easier win than they expected, but they have a very formidable team that includes some overseas players After their win Mayor Khun Itthiphol Khunplome congratulated the players, and reminded them that they are not just winners, but they are also ambassadors for Pattaya City.

The Pattaya City Dolphins soccer team was the concept of our Mayor Khun Itthiphol Khunplome and his Pattaya City Hall team very cleverly put their old election offices to good use, by making them the headquarters for the new Pattaya City Dolphins. Rather than buy a soccer club such as Manchester United, Pattaya City Hall wisely opted for starting their own soccer club, and after much planning and hard work, it has been hugely successful. Their Third Road Office opposite the Telecom Tower in Central Pattaya is well worth a visit, as not only can you become a member, but there are a great range of supporting items from which to choose.

Players will again have to train hard to compete in the next match, which will be again at Nongprue on the afternoon of Sunday 4th April when our Pattaya City Dolphins soccer team will “shape up” to the big Chonburi City soccer team. However, they are quietly confident of victory, because of their past record of wins, including those from last year, so be there to support them and enjoy the action, as the next home ground match is not until Sunday 25th April.
