Mr. Sithipharp Mueng-Kum, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City Council, chaired the meeting which was attended by representatives of Pattaya City (Zone 1), the Chief of Public Service and Contract Examination, representatives of the PTE TYPEering Consultant Company and other interested parties.

An additional survey of the construction site was conducted on May 2nd by Mr Niran Wattanasartsathorn, the Mayor of Pattaya accompanied by Mr. Phichet U-Taiwatananon, Director of the Technicians’ Institute of Pattaya City, Pattaya Council Members from the Department of Water Transport and Commerce, and representatives of PTE TYPEering Consultant Co. Ltd

In the meeting on May 1st, a representative of the PTE TYPEering Consultant Company presented the plan, the salient details of which are as follows :

– reinforced concrete format for the open space (capacity: 1,000 to 2,000 people), decorated with removable trees and plants

– part of the project space will be open so the original sandy beach may be seen.

– this part of the beach is for making sacrifices to the gods (among the Chinese) or for strolling along.

– pavilion provision on both sides for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

– car park provided for 110 cars.

– a part of the car park at the mouth of the Naklua canal, will be made of reinforced concrete and connected to the original bridge, so as to prevent flooding at high tides

– sea food and other local food shops will be provided on the left and the right sides to allow people to gain more income, and also to promote tourism.

– a new wharf for tourist and fishing boats, which will allow boats to be brought alongside at high tide.

The Naklua Pier and Sea Observation Tower at Lan-Bho will have a 600 meter off-shore, shallow anchorage area for 10-20 boats. The construction of the pier will provide an 8 meter-wide, multi-purpose court, stretching out to sea. Around the seashore, there will be a passenger rest area and security office. The development will, it is hoped, further encourage tourism, both national and international and also promote local handicrafts and be a source of income for local vendors.

Pattaya City Management provisionally accepted the plan and asked the PTE TYPEering Consultant Company to submit the construction plans of Naklua Pier and Sea Observation Tower to the Harbour Department to be presented for consideration at the next meeting.
