Pattaya city has dismantled 60% of the builds

Pattaya has dismantled 60 % of the buildings in 9 days that have been obstructing a public canal in South Pattaya. Some of the building owners have dismantled them themselves but some are staying silent.

Pattaya-May 2- They have ordered a demolition project to be completed in days. Mr.Sompob Wandee- director of water quality management organization- has ordered workforces to dismantle the wall and obstructions alongside the South Pattaya canal where buildings have overlapped the canal by about 20 meters.

Recently foundation pillars had been installed in the canal which obstructs water draining. They need to demolish and the rubbish which has built up because of the obstruction needs to be dug out.

Mr.Sompob revealed that they have dismantled many overlapping buildings, plus they have dug the garbage and sediment out in order to let the water drain easily. He added that they have dismantled 60 % of the overlapping buildings and today (May 3rd) is the last day of operation.

He also said that the rest of the building need to be dismantled which are a lot bigger like the ones in Pak Klong, Plaza buildings, Pai Klong. Some building owners accepted that they would dismantle by themselves but some are still silent. However we have ordered a team to dismantle them and sue them in order to make it a public canal” said Mr.Sompob.
