Pattaya businessman with mass media discuss economy problem for 2009

Pattaya Mass Media Association and Businessman organized an open discussion to make the best adjustment to the economy problem in 2009.

At 13.00, on September 9th, 2008, at Diana Garden Resort hotel, North Pattaya, Pattaya Mass Media Association and the hotel had organized a discussion of the economy in 2009. Khun Sopin Thepajak, managing director of Diana hotel and resort group, Mr. Jamroon Wisawachaiphan, president of Businessman Association and Pattaya Tourism, Mr. Somkid, manager of Khungthai Bank Public Relations Office, Khun Alisa Phandusak, managing director of Woodland Resort and Tiffany Company Ltd., had joined the meeting as guest speakers.

At present, Thai economy has been facing Political problem to affect to the economy and tourism in critical situation. Many businessmen and investors are in their difficulty which has made Pattaya city facing the problem as well.

According to Thailand political situation and after the royal enactment was announced, the numbers of tourist has been reduced 20  30%, and the expectancy of tourist coming in this high season is lower than last year. Businessman Association and Pattaya Tourism is pleading with everyone to get together for the peace of the country as soon as possible, otherwise the tourist would go to other countries instead.

Miss Alisa said that, they should concentrate on the domestic tourists by providing information booth and brochure to be aiming on Thai tourist.

Mr. Somkid said that, due to the foreign exchange rate of the baht is floating and the daily wage is 149 baht, has made cost of living is higher tremendously.

The open discussion was the guideline in management to adjust to the economy at the present and to be prepared for 2009
