PATTAYA – July 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 10.00 am at the bureau of engineering, Pattaya City Hall, reporters gave a statement about the repair of Pattaya 2 nd road after lots of people had complained about its condition. From the amount of traffic and poor workmanship the road had lumped up in certain areas which looked like waves causing many people to lose control of their motorcycles. The Bureau of engineering revealed that they had received 38 million baht to repair the road from Wat Chaimongkol temple to the dolphin island a total area of 36,500 square meters. North Brick Ltd. Will be the main contractor and work will start on the 8th of May-4th November.

Mr.Sunthorn Sompramai-director of construction and engineering department- admitted that many people had complained about the poor condition of the road. Plus the repair will be during the night to ease congestion during the day. The result of the waves was caused by putting tarmac over the top of the damaged road in an attempt to repair it causing it to lump up over a period of time and the only way to fix it is to take the whole road surface off and lay a new one. The officers may install warning signs to warn people about the road condition. However the new asphalt surface will be laid on the 15th August.

It’s expected that Pattaya 2nd road will then be in great condition for the next 4-5 years.
