On 6 October at Walking Street Road, South Pattaya, a “baht-bus” driver Mr. Sai Boonyasai, aged 45, driver of bus number 500 was arrested by Pattaya Tourist Police after they received a report from Mr. Pal Hacceencen, aged 32, a Norwegian that the driver ran off with his money.

Mr. Pal told the police that after he boarded the bus from the View Talay Condo on Jomtien Beach to go shopping at Big C in North Pattaya, he gave the driver a 500 Baht banknote, but the chauffeur drove out without giving back the change. Pal thought that was too much to pay for bus fare, he then reported the case to the Police.

Police questioned Mr. Sai and was told that he has no intention to cheat, but thought that the bank note handed to him by Mr. Pal was 50 Baht and not 500 Baht, he drove away without giving back the change and he did not hear Pal shouting out at him.
Officers allowed the damage to file a police record as evidence and had dismissed driver from running his business for 3 days, he was confiscated his driving license for further investigation by Pattaya Police station.
