Pattaya’s “Song & Piano” Recital At The Marriott Hotel

Internationally famous American Soprano, music Professor Pamely Hinchman, was accompanied by Australian piano Professor, Laurence Davis, to present an absolutely stunning operatic style performance. This was sponsored by Pattaya’s Marriott Resort & Spa, plus the Pattaya Branch of the Navy League of the United States.

Pattaya 10thFebruary 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] A charity performance last night at the Marriot Hotel, saw Pamela Hinchman  singing like a bird in her beautiful soprano voice accompanied by Laurence Davis on the piano.

 

Pamela, originally from Pennsylvania gained her Masters Degree in Opera from the Curtis Institute of Music and is a Professor at the Northwestern University. She has performed throughout the world with numerous operatic companies and performed with orchestra’s world wide including the National Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, the Haifa Symphony in Israel, The Cairo Symphony in Egypt and the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Professor Laurence Davis received his musical training in Sydney and in 1948 at just 19 years old, he won first prize in a music contest in Australia. He went on to study for a year in London and four years in Vienna at the Academy of Music. Among his teachers were the famous Ignaz Friedman, Franz Reizenstein and Bruno Seidlhofer.

Professor Davis gained top piano performance awards from major international piano competitions held in Paris, Geneva, Brussels and Munich. He has performed many chamber music recitals with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and was assistant conductor for 18 years at the Lyric Opera of Chicago from 1962 – 1980.

  

After 34 years in the Northwestern University piano faculty in 1964 Professor Davis retired in 1998 as Emeritus Piano Professor and on the administrative role of a Summer Study Abroad Program in Thailand for Northwestern University from 1999 – 2006. Professor Davis also taught in universities in Australia, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.

Last nights performance mesmerized the audience and captivated their minds with music and songs performed from Maestros such as Mozart, Hugo Wolf, Ernest Chausson and Erich Korngold.
