Passengers Rescued From Sinking Boat

A speed boat which was carrying passengers to Ko Lan Island started taking on water, luckily the passengers were rescued by a passing boat.

PATTAYA – July 10,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 12.00 pm Sawang Borriboon rescue team was notified that a speed boat had started taking on water off the coast of Pattaya.


At the scene the officers found a speed boat which had damage to the back but luckily all the passenger consisting of Thais and foreigners were safe.

Mrs Samorn Siprasert aged 42 a passenger revealed that she and her family was on the boat owned by Mr.Worawong Ngamkaew aged 22 and they were on the way to Ko Lan island. Later the boat suffered damage to the back and started taking on water. Luckily, another boat was passing and the passengers were rescued by it.


It’s expected that the water leak was caused from a crack in the hull but the captain didn’t care and still set sail. However, the concerned sectors should inspect the standard of the boats being used to transport passenger.
