Pattaya, 8th January 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: On the 8th January, Thailand’s National Children’s Da, around 10,000 attended a special military display at the Utapao airport, Division of naval aviation organized by Admiral Panpon
Sirisangchai, commander of the naval aviation’s division.

6 types of aircraft were on display including CL-215, F-27 MK 400, A7, AV-8, and a helicopter. In this year’s event a show was added as a highlight, with the help of the air-force, who performed stunt flights extremely low over the Utapao airport. The naval base itself had all its ships on show.

In describing the programme of events Admiral Sirisangchai said there were also several demonstrations, including an airborne firefight with 37 mm guns, the radar 311B from the aircraft battle department 1 from the air-force and shore maintenance unit, and amphibious vehicles and tanks.

The amphibious cars were used in another performance involving the demonstration of a war between aircraft and amphibious cars.

There was also a parachuting performance of singles and groups from the special navy department (‘Manut Gob), with 50 jumpers demonstrating how to parachute properly. There were also performances of music and song, and gifts were given out to children.

The moral of this year’s Children’s Day event was: Be aware of your surroundings, think well, be conscious of the public, and make a good impression on children and parents.
