Opinion Hotline Flooded with 10,000 Calls-per-Day

The “Six Days, 63 Million Opinions” campaign has seen some 10,000 calls from around the country per-day since it’s inception on the 1st of July. The campaign was instigated by the government as a way to gauge public opinion on national reform proposals.

Bangkok, the 4th of July 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Some 10,000 calls-per-day have flooded the “Six Days, 63 Million Opinions” call center with the majority of problems being voiced pertaining to economic, employment, financial, debt or household related concerns.

Prime Minister Abhisit expressed his delight at the success of the campaign stating that he believed the results were an accurate reflection of the public’s opinion regarding plans and further measures for national reform.

Accordingly, Abhisit revealed that the government would attempt to solve some problems immediately whilst “special difficulties & concerns” will be forwarded to the concerned departments and ministries. The premier further stated that not all problems could be solved but that all opinions are important and being addressed.

The “Six Days, 63 Million Opinions” is part of the governments national reform road map and follows the organisation of two committees to work on assisting in the resolution of economic and social issues plaguing the Kingdom. The campaign will run until midnight on Tuesday the 6th of July.
