On 7 January, Mr.Methadol Wijakka-director of The Fine Arts department of Prachinburi province- was accompanied with a group of professionals and some villagers to inspect the historic site. Later they revealed that there were historical sites like this in bang Lamung and those were ancient and significant. In addition, there was a legend that King Taksin and his men stopped the army in this area. Previously, Fine Arts department had renovated Wat Bang Lamung temple and Wat Nang Setthi temple. Plus, this church had been inspected 3-4 years ago where plans were submitted to renovate it.

Later the department received complaints from Laem Chabang municipality and the villagers, officers decided to inspect again and they decided they would renovate as soon as possible when the department receives the budget. It’s expected that the renovation cost is about 5 million baht and it will take approx 8 months. Initially, they aimed to build the temporary roof to protect the church from rain and sun damage.
