Officials To Crack Down On Human Trafficking

Officers of the ministry of labour and other officials had together clamped down and inspected marine operators in order to get rid of human trafficking.

SATTAHIP – January 21,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Gen.Kitti Patumkard-deputy minister of labour- went to inspect working and human trafficking for marine operators in order to protect the laborers. The officials had performed effectively in order to reduce the effect of economy and social according to NCPO policy. Mr.Chamnanwit Terat-deputy governor of Chnburi-, Mr.Waranon Pitiwan-deputy director of department of labour protection and welfare-, Royal Thai navy officers, Royal Thai police, marine police, immigration officers, marine department officers, department of fishery officers, department of customs and private sectors had inspected Warasin Jetty and Suwit jetty in Sattahip district.

Mr.Waranon said that the ministry of labour aimed to inspect the human trafficking in fishery provinces such as Samutsakorn, Chonburi, Chumphon, Songkla and Patthani. Also the officials had strictly inspected the operators and how the labour worked in order to prevent human trafficking. Also the officials aimed that Thailand won’t be placed in tier 3 in tip report in 2015 which identify Thailand is the source of human trafficking of Myanmar labors. In addition, Thai government hadn’t obeyed the standard of America to get rid of human trafficking.

Mr.Chamnanwit said that Chonburi officials had encountered the situation by enforcing and intensifying marine law according to NCPO policy. Also, the officials had discussed about the problem, meeting and inspecting fishing boats. It’s expected that the operation will succeed as NCPO expected.
