Officials Crack Down On Entertainment Spots

Public authorities of Amphur Banlamung have cracked down on various entertainment spots all over Pattaya city. They found 10 venues were operating illegally.

PATTAYA – May 15,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 3.00 a.m journalists reported that Mr. Chakhorn Kanjanawatta (Banglamung sheriff, Chon Buri province), Mr. Jakkaphong Ratchaneekul (Senior Deputy District Chief) and Mr. Praphan Prathumchomphu (Deputy District Chief of Security Division) had mobilized forces of over 20 public authorities and civil defence volunteers to inspect entertainment spots that where open after hours in Pattaya city and the Jomtien area.

 

The inspection was to check licenses, opening times, underage drinkers and also to check drug consumption. The operation was to comply with the order of the Chon Buri Provincial Governor to inspect various entertainment spots.

The officials’ inspected over 20 entertainment spots, pubs, karaoke shops, go go bars and discotheques. They found that 10 entertainment spots were operating without a license and were also selling alcohol after hours. The managers were then sent to the inquiry official of Pattaya city police station to be prosecuted. Each venue may now be closed for a minimum of 1 month if found guilty.
