Officials Clamp Down Illegal Loan Gang In Pattaya

Police and soldiers cracked down an illegal loan gang in Pattaya after they were notified from villagers that they had been threatened by the gang.

PATTAYA– October 26, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 19.30 pm Pol.Col.Suttisak Wantee and Col.Maj.Nopporn Singhasut led a team to inspect a house where of illegal loan gang where staying after they were notified from the villagers that the gang threatened their debtors.

 

Upon inspecting the officials arrested Mr.Pongsak Sathukit aged 36, Mr.Anurak Sathukit aged 34 and Mr.Jakkaret Aobaom aged 24. Also the officials found 3 pistols, 3 rifles, about 500 bullets, name cards, 100,000 baht, 5 motorcycles, a truck and passbooks which had about 5 million baht in circulation.
Upon questioning Mr.Pongsak he claimed that they loaned money and collected 60% interest. Also they had been operating for a year. Mr.Jakkaret was in charge of collecting the debts from debtors. However he rejected that he had threatened the debtors.

 

Pol.Col.Suttisak revealed that previously a lot of villagers had complained to the officials that they had been threatened by the loan gang. Therefore the police officers and soldiers planned to crack down the gang.
