Official Visits Elephant Kingdom

Officers of department of fishery visited Elephant Kingdom to inspect crocodile baiting activity. Meanwhile, owner vows to give 5 million baht to whom can sink the raft within 5 minutes.

PATTAYA – Recently [PattayaDailyNews]; Crocodile baiting, activity in Elephant Kingdom, is banned by official because it was judged as risky activity.


On 21 July, Rewat Pongpradit, director of department of fishery, Buncha Sukkaew, officer of department of fishery, and officers went to Elephant Kingdom in order to follow-up the progress of security improvement. Meanwhile, Uthen Yungprapakorn, director of Elephant Kingdom, welcomed the officers.

Uthen explained about 3 keys to keep safety for the people. The keys consist of weight of passengers, wind direction and readiness of equipment. Upon inspection the operator has safe system; however, the official recommended the operator to provide layout of the raft.


Rewat revealed that the main purpose of visit is to inspect the raft, the procedure to set sail and tourist age limit. Plus, the staffs should be trained well before they are on duty. These are requirement that the operator has to follow and they would have to submit the report to department of fishery in order to be approved.

Uthen said that he has operated on crocodile farm for 12 years and he has renewed the license twice. In addition, his team has researched and developed 5 models of safety raft. This is the first time that he is suspended the permit because of viral pictures and video on social media.


Uthen vowed to challenge those internet users who underestimated his raft to prove the strength by themselves. He promises to give 5 million baht to a group who can sink the raft within 5 minutes.
