Official To Construct Underpass In Central Pattaya

Pattaya officials will start the construction of an underpass tunnel at Central Pattaya junction which they had postponed last year.

PATTAYA- Recently- [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr.Ronnakit Aekasing-deputy mayor of Pattaya- revealed the progress of construction of an underpass tunnel at Central Pattaya junction that a Pattaya official had signed the contract with the contractor to construct in November 2014, but they had to postpone the construction because they were afraid it could cause traffic congestion during New Year. Work has commenced since 5 January 2015.


In addition, officials had discussed with all parties involved about moving away the public utility system such as electricity, water pipes and communicative system. Also, the officials had co-worked well especially PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) that the officials intended to move the underground electrical lines across the road for temporary period and they also aimed to construct sub-power station in South Pattaya as soon as possible in order to solve the problem.


Mr.Ronnakit said that the official had discussed with police and other units and they had the decision that the construction will be performed on 20 February. Also, the start of South Pattaya road will be closed on that day and the people have to run their vehicles on the road the police designate.


While Pattaya official had the budget about 2 million baht for traffic signs to notify the people 10-15 days early. In addition, Pattaya official, Department of Rural Roads and the contractor had agreed to each other to determine the procedure of the project and announce the detail of the project for the people. Also, they invited private sectors, operators and village headers to attend the conference in order that they will understand the importance of the project.
