Officers Take Illegal Birds To Wildlife Centre

Officers have taken 18 red whiskered bulbul birds to a wildlife centre to be hand reared before they are released back into the wild. The birds were rescued after the drug dealing owners were arrested.

SATTAHIP – August 4, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at Sattahip (district nearby Pattaya) diestrict office, Mr.Pawat Lerdmukda-chief district of Sattahip-, Mr.Chawat Thepthap-deputy chief of security- and officers sent 18 Red-whiskered bulbul birds which were seized from some drug dealers. They were taken to Mr.Pasi Saenpayod-officer from the Bang Lamung wildlife centre so they can be hand reared before releasing them back into the jungle.

 

Mr.Pawat revealed that the officers had arrested a lot of local drugs dealer in the Chonburi area who had owned these birds without permission. In addition the police have warned people who keep these birds without permission could be arrested and fined according to Thai law.
