At the 4-storey shop house with a restaurant and bar on the ground floor and apartments for rent on the upper floor, police investigators examined a room on the 3rd floor and found Mr. Anders Conradi, (49),a Norwegian citizen, lying dead near the door. He was wearing jeans and was shirtless. His face and chest were dusky. His head had an open wound and his fingers were crooked. In addition, there were many bruise marks on his arm, looking like injection marks. Doctor inspected his body but found no sign of his being attacked. It was estimated that he had been dead for not more than 24 hours. Police also found many items of drug equipment, including a plastic bottle modified for ganja, (marijuana) consumption, similar paraphernalia used to consume Yah Bah (Amphetamine) and syringes with traces of some kind of narcotic, all over the floor. Police kept them all as evidence. Property belonging to the deceased were also still in the room.

Mrs. Sunantha Ruek-raksanee (43), restaurant cashier, told police that the deceased had rented a room alone since June 6, indefinitely. Mr.Conradi would apparently take Thai and foreign friends to the room on a regular basis. On the previous night, Mr.Tom, a Norwegian friend of the dead man who was a regular, had come to knock on Mr. Conradi room, but receiving no answer had gone away. Later on, during the night, Mr.Tom came back and knocked on the door, but again received no answer. Suspicious, Mr. Tom asked the cashier to use her pass key to open the door and they found Mr. Conradi dead.

Pol.Col.Nopadol stated that after examining the deceased and finding substantial evidence of drug equipment in the room, and taking into account the testimony of the witness, they presumed, Mr. Conradi had used the room as a drug den. They presume he had overdosed on drugs, fallen to the floor and died. Morover, there was no sign of fighting or of being attacked. However, police will send his body for autopsy to confirm the real cause of death and will inform the Norwegian Embassy accordingly.
