Norwegian Attacks Friend With Kitchen Knife In Pattaya

A foreign man who was annoyed with his friend after he tried to help him check his account at an ATM machine attacked him with a kitchen knife.

PATTAYA – December 19,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 02.30 am Pol.Capt.Witsanu Chaisuwan-deputy inspector of Pattaya police station was notified that a foreigner had been stabbed and was injured at the Park lane Jomtien resort. After notification the police officers and Sawang Borriboon rescue team rushed to the scene.


At the crime scene they found a MR BJORN EUGEN KRISTIANSEN aged 58 from Norway who had been slashed across his head so the rescue team performed first aid on him before sending him to Pattaya Memorial hospital. While the attacker fled into his room no.711 on the 7th floor of the resort.

Later the officers went to inspect the room and found MR.ARNE HARALD GARDEN aged 57 from Norway who was drinking a cup of coffee as if nothing had happened. Upon inspecting the room they found a knife in the sink, so they took him to the police station.


The attacker claimed that the injured man was his friend who he met in Thailand and only knew him for a few years. Before the incident MR.BJORN who was drunk and knocked on his door and asked him to help him check his account at the ATM because a relative had transferred some money into his account.


After checking the account the money hadn’t been transferred so MR.BJORN got annoyed with MR.ARNE which made him angry. Mr Arne then picked up a kitchen knife and slashed him across his head before fleeing to his room. The injured man then asked for help from a nearby security guard.
