Nokyang Mangrove Forest Got Worsen

Nokyang mangrove forest becomes last forest in Pattaya and it is badly treated now.

PATTAYA-15 May-[PattayaDailyNews]; The mangrove forest in Nokyang canal in Naklua sub-district has degenerated due to construction along the canal. Previously, this is a complex of sea birds and nursery of small sea animals.

In addition, garbage in canal and wasted water are released into the canal led to contamination in water. This harshly and badly affects to marine ecosystem especially nursery of small marine animals.

 

Villagers said that this canal was previously abundant with mangroves, however it was affected from construction and pollution from human nowadays. In addition, this is the last mangrove forest in Pattaya but no section take care it well.

Recently, conservative group campaigned to keep clean and conserve natural resource but they couldn’t take care all along the canal.
