UDON THANI – October 28, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; A new airline at Udon Thani airport will initially offer rentals of a 10-seat plane to fly from Udon Thani to Pitsanulok/Ubon Ratchathani. The propeller-driven aircraft is a Piper Navajo model, and was bought second hand in America for 15 million THB. The plane from America will arrive at the end of November.

Making the announcement was Mr. Pornthep Saksutjarit, the chairman of Udon Thani Industrial Council, and administrator of the new airline, Udon Mastertech Co., Ltd. In the future, the airlines will conduct the market tests to see whether there is a demand for roundtrip travel between Udon Thani-Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani-Pitsanulok. Passengers would be charged 2,100 THB/person/flight.

If the business goes well, Mr. Pornthep plans to expand the market by servicing the eastern and northern areas of Thailand. He will also switch to 16-seat airplanes, especially for the route from Hua Hin to U-Taphao airports.

In the future, he hopes to will expand flights to neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and eventually offer service from Udon Thani-Shenzhen, and Udon Thani-Hong Kong.
