PATTAYA – December 8, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 2:30 a.m., an arrest of a university student for dealing drugs was announced by Pol. Col. Kittanes Chiawnawintawat, the new director of Pattaya police station; along with Pol. Capt. Seksak Artornkitjawat, vice suppression inspector of Pattaya police station, and police volunteers.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Phanuwat Yordsin, or Mo, 20 years old, a law student of Eastern Asia university, living in the Nongprue area in Banglamung. He was taken to the Pattaya police station.

Police seized the evidence of 0.67 grams of “ice” crystal meth in a plastic bag, 3 cell phones, and a golden bronze Toyota Vios.

The arrest resulted after a police investigation revealed that Mr. Phanuwat was selling drugs to local teenagers in the Muang Pattaya area. So the police planned to arrest him by having an undercover agent call him and order some crystal meth.

The undercover agent made an appointment with Mr. Phanuwat to meet in the middle of soi Buakhao for the drug transaction. At the appointed time, Mr. Phanuwat drove up in his sedan with two female friends.

But as police were about to arrest him, Mr. Phanuwat drove away in his car to escape. So police officers and volunteers chased and intercepted him, and he got arrested near the entrance to middle Pattaya. Police arrested the suspect and also controlled the girls in the car.

After doing a body search on Mr. Phanuwat, police found the crystal meth hidden in his cell phone holder. The police arrested him and seized the drugs for evidence.

During questioning, Mr. Phanuwat confessed that he had bought the crystal meth from a friend to use and sell. But he said the female friends with him did not know anything about drugs. However, the police did not believe him, and took the girls to have drug tests.

Police detained Mr. Phanuwat and charged him with illegal possession of a Type-1 drug (crystal meth) and sent him to be prosecuted.
