New Drainage To Solve FloodingPattaya officials are to inspect areas around Pattaya to put in drainage channels to prevent flooding in the future.
PATTAYA – October 3rd 2015 [Pattaya Daily News] journalist reported that after the heavy rain caused by the Mujigae tropical storm Pattaya 3rd road always floods because it is a catchment area of the eastern side of Pattaya.
It was found that after the rain had stopped the flood water would recede within the hour especially at the beginning of Soi 6/1 (which is a main catchment point that drains water into the sea) where the water drains away very quickly.
Mr. Weerawat Khakhai (Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City), said that even though the drainage system in Pattaya is still under construction once it is finished it should solve the flooding problems in the future. On Monday 5th the officials will walk along the footpath along Pattaya beach in order to find ways to open up new drainage channels said Mr. Weerawat.
