New Artificial-Turf Football Stadium Opens in Pattaya

The new K-Football Stadium in central Pattaya has finally opened its doors on Monday. The 20 million baht facility was officially opened by the Chon-Buri Sport Association President and various Pattaya City Hall administrators.

Pattaya, the 14th of June 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: In a low-key ceremony, the official opening of the K-Football Stadium in central Pattaya was held on Monday. Chon-Buri Sports Association President Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem chaired the event, which marks the opening of the first indoor artificial-turf pitch in Chon-Buri.

Stadium owner, Mr. Theeraboon Khanawatthanakun revealed that the stadium was the first of its kind in the region and presented an FIFA approved artificial grass pitch for use by the community in the Bt20 million development.

The stadium can support 24-hour operation and includes a variety of facilities such as; an in-house sports shop, club house and bar along with free WIFI internet connection. Ample parking is also available at the stadium which will be featuring live World Cup football matches displayed in the extravagant club house and bar.

The stadium includes 2 separate artificial turf pitches, one specifically design for 5-a-side matches whilst the other is a ¾-size pitch that can easily support an 11-a-side game. Both pitches can be rented for under Bt1,500 per hour with an extra charge after 4:00pm.
