NBTC To Crack Down on Facebook Users Who Dishonor the Monarchy

NBTC summoned a representative from Facebook Thailand to discuss about ways to identify people who post dishonorable postings regarding the monarchy.

Recently – Mr.THakorn Tanthasit-secretary of NBTC (Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission)- summoned a representative from Facebook Thailand in order to discuss about the current policy to protect and prosecute the users who dishonor the monarchy. The official asked the representative of Facebook Thailand to discuss options in order to identify which users posted any comments or images that dishonor the monarchy. In addition the police will prosecute anyone found to post dishonorable images or comments regarding the monarchy and Officials warned people to stop doing so immediately otherwise they will face sever prosecution!
