At 4.00 pm on 2 November, Banglamung Police Investigator Chaiporn Natongpian was notified that a dead body of a man was found under a Palm tree, near Sukhumvit road, and his police team, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue and a Banglamung Hospital Team rushed to investigate.

At the scene, police found the body of an unidentified man, about 180 cm. tall, lying on the ground on his back. He had no injuries and was wearing a green “Polo” long sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans, a cap, a belt and sandals.

Police also found an opened can of insect killer and a bottle of water. There was no evidence of fighting nor did the deceased have any ID documents.

Police questioned Mr. Katunyu Sudjai (33), the first person to find the dead body. He said he had worked on the road nearby and found the body when he wanted to take a leak.

Police assumed that the mystery man had been dead for about 3 weeks and presumed he committed suicide by taking the insect poisoning chemical. The man’s body was sent to hospital for autopsy.
