Mysterious Fire Destroys 3 Cars

A mysterious fire at an old boiled fish factory in Sattahip destroyed 3 cars causing around 1 million THB worth of damage. The police are to investigate to see whether it was arson or an electrical short circuit.

SATTAHIP – April 1st, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Capt.Nonsamat Bowsuwarn, detective officer of Sattahip, was notified that there was a fire burning at a house number 54 /11 Moo 1, Tambon Sattahip, Chonburi so he and 3 fire trucks from Tambon Administration Organization Samaesan rushed to the scene.

At scene was a building that used to be used to cook fish but now it was a garage. The fire was burning a white Toyota, license plate numbers OrYor 3497, Bangkok and quickly spread to spread to a white Nissan Tida, KorTOr 6050, Bangkok and a tractor which was burnt to the ground. The fire also spread into the trees and the valley behind the garage. It took fire fighters around an hour to bring the fire under control. Mr.Phawat Lertmuckda, Sattahip Sheriff who was in control of the operation and said nobody had died or been injured but the fire had caused around 1 million THB worth of damage.

Upon questioning a Mrs.Pruan Sukwaree, 62 year old house owner she told police that in the past she ran the factory selling boiled fish but now she had turned to selling herb juice. At the time of the fire she was having a shower and then someone told her that the garage was on fire so she ran out and moved a van out and tried to move the other cars out but the fire was too strong .

Pol.Lt.Capt.Nonsamat Bowsuwan, said that he could not say what the real cause of fire was at the moment and he had to wait for the forensic department to check the scene thoroughly to see if it was arson or an electrical short circuit. The police also took photos and asked the house owner for a statement.
