Mysterious Death Of A Drugs Prisoner In Jail

Pattaya, August 20, [PDN]: , Police Lieutenant Colonel Chahaphat Nowalaks, the Assistant Superintendent, on 19th August 2009, at 5. 30 pm, received a report from the officer in charge of the prison that a drug offending prisoner was found dead in the prison, with traces of blood around his sexual organ, but no signs of injury on his body.

Police rushed to the scene to find the body of Mr. Piak Koomdee, age 41, formerly residing at 13, Moo10, Phuttabat, Chondan, Petchaboon, lying on the floor. He was wearing jeans with no shirt, and they found some bloodstains around his private parts.

Police Lieutenant Colonel, Wanlop Gantaratip, revealed that Mr. Piak Koomdee is a drug prisoner and that he had been arrested on the previous day for possessing 40-tablets of “Yahbah,” in the company of his friend Mr. Samphan Phansuwan, [31], from Srisaket. Mr. Piak, was a motorbike taxi driver, and had been interrogated and was waiting to appear in court.

At around 11.00 am, on 19th August, a police officer had sent him to the Banglamung Hospital for treatment, as he was in the state of shock from urinated blood. However, at 3.40 pm, he was sent back to the prison and two hours later, he was found dead with no evidence of attack or any foul play. 

Police Lt. Col. Chahaphat said the actual cause of his death could not be confirmed as yet, as his body has been sent for an autopsy examination. Initially, the police had contacted the Director of the Banglamung Hospital for the treatment report and an explanation of the circumstances surrounding his unusually quick recovery.
