Motorway ConstructionThe Department of High Ways has revealed the progress of the 2 new motorways to be constructed to improve travel to Pattaya.
PATTAYA – August 16,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; Mr.Chusak Kewi- director of the department of High Ways revealed the progress of construction of the motorway that the department will be inspecting. The construction is of the Pattaya-Mab Tapud motorway which will be 32 kilometres long and will cost 20,200 million baht.
The contract will be divided in to 13 contracts and is expected to be finished within 2 to 2 and half years. The officials allowed each contractor to bid for each contract and they were limited to 5 contracts each said Mr Chusak.
He added that Bang Pa-In- Nakonratchasima motorway which is 196 kilometres long needed 84,600 million baht. Contracts will be finalised in October-November 2015 and they intended to start the construction in 2016. Meanwhile, BangYai-Kanchanaburi motorway which is 96 kilometres long needs 55,600 million baht to construct and they will start construction in the first quarter of next year.
