Motorcyclists Stabbed Leaving 1 Dead And 1 Severely Injured

An elder brother took his younger brother and nephew to try a newly modified motorbike when they met a group of teenage motorcyclists. The elder brother was challenged into a race which ended up in them being attacked leaving the nephew dead and the brother severely injured.

PATTAYA – January 11, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.00 a.m. Pol. Lt. Nopphadol Intharasorn (Deputy Inspector of Banglamung police station, Chonburi province) was notified from Banglamung hospital that 1 man had died and 1boy had been severely injured , so he rushed to the hospital together with Pol. Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Banglamung police station) and detective police team.

At the hospital the officers found a dead teenager named Mr. Sippakorn Darmthong, aged 16, address 121 Moo 21 Tambon Tajong, Amphur Raharnsai, Buriram province. He had been stabbed a total of 3 times. The other victim was a boy named Pichitchai Unlamai, aged 13, he had been stabbed in his face and his left leg was broken. The police questioned a Mr. Phongsakorn Unlamai, aged 19, address 37 Moo 4 Tambon Bueng Thong Lang, Amphur Lamlookka, Pathumthani province and he told police that he persuaded his younger brother and nephew to try the motorbike that he just modified but when they got near to an international school there was a group of 20 male motorcyclists who they didn’t know and challenged them to a race, so they raced but Mr. Phongsakorn Unlamai was the loser and he had also collided and scratched 1 of the motorbikes in the group but nothing happened. So he decided to drive his motorbike back home to Soi Nongkate Yai with his younger brother and nephew. But the group of motorcyclists chased after them with knives which they used to attack them he tried to escape but his younger brother and nephew could not escape and were assaulted by the group of motorcyclists until his younger brother died and his nephew was severely injured.

After initial investigation the officers then went to inspect the incident point on the road route 36 Krathing Lai – Rayong. On the entrance route to Pattaya, the officers found a navy blue-white Yamaha Meo 125 motorbike, license number NGOR JOR KHOR – 375 Chonburi on its side which had sustained severe damage and the officers also found a foot long knife so they kept it for evidence. Initially, the officers inspected the CCTV at the convenience store in the area of Santikharm temple intersection but it could not see any footage of the group of male motorcyclists that attacked the 2 boys .

Pol. Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Banglamung police station) revealed that from questioning Mr. Phongsakorn Unlamai he gave information that was unclear to the police. Mr. Phongsakorn claimed that he didn’t know the group but he competed in a high speed race with them which contradicted his defence therefore the police detained him to question him further to find the actual cause of the incident.
