Motorcyclist Rode Against Flow Of Traffic Causing An Accident In Pattaya

A Kalasin man who was visiting Pattaya for the first time rode his motorbike against the flow of traffic on beach road hitting a woman who was crossing the road and also causing another motorcyclist to crash.

PATTAYA – August 10, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.10 a.m., Pol.Lt. Charnchai Sa-nguan-saksri (Deputy Traffic Inspector of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) together with the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city, rushed to inspect an accident where 2 motorbikes had crashed and also collided with 2 victims. The incident occurred in front of Central Pattaya Beach department store, Pattaya beach road, Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

 

At the scene the officers found a white Honda CBR motorbike, license number Ngor Ngor Kor 745 Khon Kaen and a red-white Yamaha Meo, license number Jor Ror Khor 705 Chonburi. Also there were 3 injured identified as Mr. Wiwat Khunkaew, aged 17, Mr. Darran Johnson, aged 32, British nationality, both of them were slightly injured, and the other one victim was a Thai woman aged approximately 30-35, who was severely injured. The rescuers performed first aid on her then sent her to Mueang Pattaya hospital.

Upon questioning the eyewitness, he told the police that he saw Mr. Wiwat was riding his Honda CBR motorbike against the flow of traffic at high speed and collided with a Thai woman who was crossing the road. Then the motorbike which was being ridden by the foreigner collided with the CBR which was lying in the road.

 

Initially, Mr. Wiwat (a Honda CBR motorbike driver) told police that he had just come to Pattaya and didn’t know that the road was one way. After investigation the police detained him to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
