Motorcycle Hit by Pick-up Killing The Rider Instantly

A pick-up truck which was travelling at high speed hit a motorcycle from behind killing the rider instantly. The pick-up driver then fled the scene at high speed in the direction of Sattahip.

SATTAHIP – June 1, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 8.46 p.m. on Pol. Capt. (Woman) Rasita Nenphong (Inquiry official on duty of Na Jomtien police station) was notified that there was an accident where a pick-up truck had crashed into the back of a motorbike killing the rider before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on the Sukhumvit km.162 road, Pattaya – Sattahip route, in front of the entrance to Sap Na Boonyaram temple, Moo 8 Tambon Na Jomtien, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province, so she rushed to inspect the scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Rojjana Tharmma Satharn Sattahip Foundation.
At the incident on the side of the road, the officers found a blue-grey Honda Wave 100 motorbike, license number Khor Ror Wor-866 Chonburi, overturned and the back of the motorbike was severely damaged. Nearby, the officers found the corpse of the motorbike rider who was identified as Mr. Chaiyuth Saengphet, aged 31. He was face down with a broken neck and was dressed in a company uniform.
Upon questioning Miss Angwara Buakaew, aged 20, an eyewitness who saw the incident, she told the police that while she was riding her motorbike behind the deceased’s motorbike at some distance suddenly a pick-up truck cut in front of her after overtaking her and crashed into the back of the deceased’s motorbike at high speed causing it to flip over before the pick- up fled the scene at high speed in the direction of Sattahip. The police are now hunting the pick-up driver so they can prosecute him /her according to the Thai law.
